Latency Bands for Shared Integration Owners
Why percentile charts alone rarely help the person who owns a partner workflow.
Percentiles are precise and often useless to the person who must call a partner. Owners need bands tied to business windows: morning batch, peak retail hours, overnight reconciliation. A p95 that ignores those windows hides the moment that matters.
Define latency bands per path and per window, then report breach counts rather than only averages. Attach an owner and a partner contact to each band so escalation is a decision, not a search.
When bands are stable for several weeks, tighten only the paths that carry revenue or compliance risk. Broad tightening creates noise; selective tightening creates trust.
